Fair Workweek Law Updates
New York City and Chicago have fair workweek law updates that cover predictive scheduling rights and advance notice of schedules.
On March 22, 2022, New York City updated its Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) guidance document about complying with the city’s Fair Workweek Law for retail workers.
Effective July 1, 2022, employers covered by Chicago’s Fair Workweek ordinance must provide employees 14 days’ advance notice of work schedules, up from 10 days’ notice. You can learn more about the Chicago Fair Workweek law.

Employee Leave Law Updates
Effective July 1, 2022, employers in New Mexico must provide eligible employees with up to 64 hours of paid sick leave in a calendar year. Sick leave accrues at the rate of 1 hour for every 30 worked, although employers have the option of front-loading leave at the beginning of the year in lieu of accrual.
